Premier 2008

UKC 's Premier for 2008 was held June 12 - 15th. Attendance was higher than any other UKC Premier. This event is held each year at the Kalamazoo County Expo Center and Fairgrounds in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Top Ten Event is held on the first day. Each year you show your Poodles, your points are accumulated and, if you are lucky enough to find your Poodle in the Top Ten at the end of the year you will be sent a Special Invitation to attend this event. In 2008, 481 dogs competed for Best in Top Ten. Many vendors attend Premier and you can buy all kinds of Poodle "stuff." This year, UKC introduced the Ultimate Air Dogs, a dock diving competition. Top Ten Competition Rules:

Preliminary Round: One Best of Breed winner is chosen to go onto the next round.

Semi Final Round: Breed Winners are divided into five groups of equal size. The Groups are judged at the same time and each judge selects four dogs to compete in the next round.

Best in Final Round: The 20 finalists will be judged by a panel of three judges and the judges are announced just prior to the judging. Ten Dogs are selected and placed in order of Merit. The winner of this round will be the Best In Top Ten Winner for the previous year.
